2 Weeks Before Packing Day
Decide which items you'll pack, and which ones you'd like us to pack. If you have some items to store or some to go by air, it is important that you label it before the packers arrives to avoid any mix-up.
For items ‘not going', please remove or place these items in one corner or in the spare room. Use our ‘Do Not Remove' sticker on the large items that you do not wish to take.
Return library books and other things you've borrowed. Collect things you've loaned, and items in self-storage, etc.
Arrange to close bank accounts and release all bank deposits.
Protect your shipment from damage by disposing of such flammables as gasoline, fireworks, matches, cleaning fluids, bottled gas; also aerosols, acids, caustic drain cleaners, etc.
Any fixtures fasten to the wall that requires packing or additional fixtures not belonging to the landlord, should be taken down.
Remind your spouse to bring home any items that he/she has in the office that require packing.
Draw up a floor plan of your new home, and indicate placement of furnishings. It makes moving twice as easy.
We are not permitted to take down TV antennas. We can arrange to have it done if you wish. Provide sufficient notice to your Service Providers to disconnect your telephone, internet, cable TV.
1 Week Before Packing Day
Place things you want to be packed together in separate areas, for example, air, sea, storage, items not going, etc to avoid any mix-ups.
Anything we're packing should be left in its original place. It's easier and safer, for example, to pack glassware right from the cabinet that it's kept in.
Movers can't take aerosols, flammables or ammunition. It's best to use them up or give them away before you move. Propane tanks must be emptied.
1 Day Before Moving
Defrost, clean and dry refrigerator & freezer. Recommend to air dry for at least 24 hours.
Set aside games, snacks, books and other items to occupy the children while travelling.
Plan to carry passport, air tickets, important documents and valuables with you.
Pack suitcases, includes all items you will need until the arrival of your shipment. Be sure not to pack your passport.
Arrange for Singapore Power to read your gas, water and electricity meters and arrange the refund of your balance deposit.
